Teleconferences: Cost-Effective Continuing Education

Medical education conferences are great, but not when the travel budget is tight. Create your own on-site technical conference with the help of ASCP’s Teleconferences. Fifty-three one-credit teleconference courses are available this fall for presentation right in your own conference room. For $199 per course, even a small group can make a teleconference cost-effective. 

A series of six cytology courses is available for $955. The surgical pathology series has five courses for only $795. Compare those prices with the cost of sending six staff to another city – with flight, hotel, meals, and meeting registration – and the savings are huge.

For continuity, choose several courses in one field, such as molecular diagnostics or general laboratory operations, or select courses from a variety of areas for cross-training purposes. Each course is offered on a different date, usually around noon or 1 p.m. Central Time.

Each course includes a live audio lecture and discussion (available after the course on audio CD), a Microsoft® Power Point presentation, supplemental handouts, instructions for seminar managers, and instructions for obtaining continuing education credit.
