ASCP Annual Business Meeting Notice

All ASCP members were invited to the Annual Business Meeting on October 18, 2007, in New Orleans. At the meeting, revisions to the ASCP Bylaws were approved.

A summary of the revisions is as follows:

• The term "Council of Laboratory Professionals" shall be used to replace the "Member Council"
  (ARTICLE 2 Sections 2 and 4) (ARTICLE 4 Section 2) (ARTICLE 6 Section 1) (ARTICLE 7 Sections 1A and 3)
• Replace the capital letter M in the word Members to lower case m
  "…At-Large members of the Board"
  (ARTICLE 7 Section 2)
• Deletion of Resource Councils
  There shall be various Resource Councils of the Society, organized by discipline, which shall provide special expertise and advice within their discipline to the Commissions and Committees of the Society.
  (ARTICLE 7 Section 4)
• Deletion of Temporary Transitional Provisions
  Amendments to these bylaws shall be effective immediately following their approval, except that the incumbent Commissioner of Continuing Education and the incumbent Commissioner of Graduate Medical Education in Pathology shall continue to serve on the Board of Directors until the 2005 Annual Meeting.
