ASCP eCourses: All About Ease
Technically, the “e” in ASCP eCourses stands for “electronic,” but practically speaking, it stands for “ease,” because the Society’s new eCourses provide an incredibly convenient way to pick up 1 or 2 Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Medical Laboratory Education credits. Four new eCourses have been added to the eCourse catalog. They are online and available for you to enroll and participate at your convenience. Here is a list of the newest offerings:
- A Practical Approach to Dermatopathology of Inflammatory Skin Disease: Inflammatory Diseases with Prominent Epidermal Change by Steven Billings, MD, FASCP
- A Practical Approach to Dermatopathology of Inflammatory Skin Disease: Inflammatory Diseases of the Dermis and Subcutis by Steven Billings, MD, FASCP
- Red Cell Morphology: A Necessary Tool for Rapid and Accurate Assessment of Anemias by Robert V. Pierre, MD, FASCP
- Does It Matter? Clinical Implications of Pap Test Interpretations by Kristin A. Atkins, MD, FASCP
With eCourses, it’s all about ease, convenience, and interactivity. You can take these courses online, whenever you choose. You can listen to the instructor, watch multi-media presentations, make electronic notes, navigate your own path through the presentation, and interact with other learners. Nongraded review questions as well as a section of graded questions for performance measurement are all part of the package. Learners get five tries to pass the course review and earn credit.
Watch for these eCourses that are coming soon: An Algorithmic Approach to the Diagnosis of Malignant Mesothelioma by Henry D. Tazelaar, MD, and a series of four programs on chemical emergency response preparedness for clinical laboratory professionals. The series will cover these topics: chemical agents, communication and coordination, specimen collection and handling, and emergency planning.
Prices start as low as $29 for most courses. Additional eCourses are under development, so visit the eLearning Center at www.ascp.org/education/eLearning/ often to see what’s new. |
