CheckPath is a self- or laboratory-administered competency assessment program that enables participants to evaluate, document, and improve their diagnostic skills. CheckPath cases assess strengths and identify areas for further development.

Please note the following change in your CheckPath subscription for 2008. In addition to the printed images included in each quarter’s mailing, digital images associated with the case history challenges will be emailed to the subscription’s primary contact in a powerpoint format one week after the case history challenges are shipped. You may receive this email before your current mailing arrives since ASCP CheckPath is shipped by USPS mail. We hope that this format will enhance your ability to easily view the images. How Does CheckPath Work?
Each quarter, you'll receive five to seven cases that have been carefully reviewed by a panel of experts. Each case is accompanied by glass slides, high-quality, full-color images and/or laboratory data. All cases present unknowns for diagnostic interpretation.The cases are challenging, but the process is easy! Simply study the material, select the best interpretation for each case from a list of possible diagnoses, and fax your responses to the ASCP. You will receive a concise discussion of each case. In addition, you will get both a laboratory and participant score report that compiles the responses of all participants-letting you confidentially compare your performance against that of your peers. CE certificates are issued quarterly.

Where Do the Cases Come From?
Only the best cases are selected for CheckPath. A panel of national experts reviews each case. Even the follow-up discussions are peer-reviewed to ensure up-to-date, accurate information.

Patient-Focused Cases
