In an effort to encourage and support individuals interested in laboratory
professions, the ASCP is pleased to offer scholarships to students in
their 3rd, 4th or final clinical year of study.
All scholarships are given annually and based on academic achievement,
leadership abilities, community activities, professional goals, and endorsements
from faculty and community leaders.
Application forms are available for download and limited to 1 application
per person per year.
ASCP Scholarships
Offered to students enrolled in their final clinical year of study in
Cytotechnologist (CT), Histotechnician (HT), Histotechnologist (HTL),
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) or Medical
Technologist (MT) programs. To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants
must be enrolled in a NAACLS or CAAHEP accredited laboratory science program,
be either a United States citizen or a permanent resident, and maintain
a minimum GPA of 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
ASCP Phlebotomy Scholarships
For the first time, scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled
in or recent graduates of (within the past 9 months) an approved phlebotomy
training program. Approved programs as well as eligibility and selection
criteria are found on the scholarship application.
Dade Behring Scholarships
The Emil von Behring Scholarship Program
Scholarship awards of $2,500 in the U.S. are available from Dade Behring
each year for 34 students in their third or fourth year of a National
Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited
Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist program. Dade Behring
is working with the American Society for Clinical Pathology as its administering
partner for this scholarship.

The Dade Behring MLT Scholarship Program
Each year 50 scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to students enrolled in
a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory
Technician program. Dade Behring is working with the Coordinating Council
on the Clinical Laboratory Workforce to administer this program.

The Dade Behring Legacy Scholarship
Legacy Scholarships of $5,000 each are available to five students who
are the children, grandchildren, or siblings of clinical laboratory professionals
who continue their family legacy by pursuing associate or bachelor's degrees
in NAACLS accredited MLT/CLT or MT/CLS programs. Dade Behring is working
with the American Society for Clinical Pathology as its administering
partner for this scholarship.
